Thought I would re-post a video I made six years ago. This video features a bunch of gig posters from concerts I have been to. The music in this video is from the Drive-By Truckers, a song called "Let There Be Rock" from their album Southern Rock Opera. Hope you enjoy.

the smalls Reunion
Some cool news came out this week about an Edmonton band re-uniting for a couple of gigs. The band I am talking about is the smalls, a metal band that shut it down over 10 years ago. This band was hugely popular during the 90's in Western Canada, releasing four albums, and constantly touring, which helped them sell over 40,000 albums independently in there time.
There had been rumours for a while now about a reunion, but with Corb Lund doing good on his own with his country/roots band Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans, I didn't think this reunion would happen. But lo and behold the band will be playing two gigs this summer, Calgary's X-Fest (Aug.30th) and Edmonton's Sonic Boom Fest (Aug.31st) both held during the September long weekend.
It will involve all the original members Corb Lund on bass, Mike Caldwell on vocals, Dug Bevans on guitar and Terry Johnson on drums. These shows promise to be very popular and hopefully lead to more gigs and maybe a new album, here is hoping so.
In other concert news...Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans will be playing the Interstellar Rodeo Festival in Edmonton on Friday July 25th headlining the opening night of this festival.

Junior Gone Wild Live Sept.14th 2013
Last Saturday my buddies Hurl, A-Bomb and myself made our way to Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton to catch local band Jr.Gone Wild play an hour long free show as part of the Edmonton Public Library one hundredth anniversary celebration. This was my fourth time seeing Jr.Gone Wild perform since May of this year. As usual Jr.Gone Wild put on a stellar performance, just a shame that there were so few people that attended this show on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Why this show got so little publicity, or lack of advertising is beyond me. You would think with it being the Edmonton Public Library there would be all kinds of advertising, but nope, again someone shit the bed on this one, yet again. In late May Jr.Gone Wild re-united after not being together for twenty some years, they played a hall show for their reunion show and had almost 700 people pay 30 some dollars to see them play in a hall out in the middle of nowhere, yet no one shows up for a free show in downtown Edmonton. I don't get it.
Here are a few videos shot of Jr.Gone Wild performing at this show. The camera work is a touch shaky as I was under the influence.
Jr.Gone Wild performing "Poet's Highway" from their 1990 album "Too Dumb To Quit".
"I'm So Glad" from their 1995 album "Simple Little Wish".
"Just The Other Day" from their 1992 album "Pull The Goalie".
Good times!!!

Johnny Cash Xmas Ornament
Thought I would show off this great Christmas present that I got this year from my Brother. It is a Johnny Cash Xmas ornament that is a record player that illuminates and plays Johnny Cash's song "I Walk The Line" when you push the button on the record player. A very cool gift I must say. My Brother picked this up for me at a Walmart in the States. Thanks Citrus, I love it!!!

Song Of the Day Dec.24th (Diamond Rugs)
Today's song of the day is yet another song from the debut album by Diamond Rugs, one of my favorite albums of the year. I thought the song was appropriate for the time of year. It is a song called "Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant". Hope you like it. And a Merry Christmas to all!!!

Gig Posters Video 2 (Joel Plaskett Emergency)
I finally got around to making part two of my gig posters video series. All posters in the video are from shows that I have attended. Most of the posters are from Edmonton shows, but there are a few from other cities. The music I chose for this video is a song called 'North Star' by Joel Plaskett Emergency from their 2012 release 'Scrappy Happiness'. I hope you will checkout the video and enjoy it.

Gig Posters Video (Drive-By Truckers)
I know I haven't done very many posts lately, part of that is due to me trying to make a video, wow, what a fucking hassle that was. This is the finished product for my first try. The music is by Drive-By Truckers, the song is called "Let There Be Rock" from their live album "Live at Austin City Limits" released in 2009. The song was originally released on the studio album "Southern Rock Opera" that came out in 2001. The posters are from concerts I have been to. Hope you enjoy my video. Watch for part 2. like to say coming soon, but can't promise that.
