 My ticket stub from the first time I saw Metallica in concert. This was on December 16th, 1986 at the Edmonton Convention Centre with Metal Church opening. A wicked double bill of thrash metal. Metallica were on their Damage Inc. Tour promoting the album Master Of Puppets. Only two and half months after the death of Cliff Burton.

June 6th

  

 It was June 6th, 1989 that I saw thrash metal band Metal Church rock the fuck out of The Metro in Edmonton. Metal Church were on the road promoting the album Blessing In Disguise. Opening the show was a band from Balzac, Alberta called Joker who were also excellent.

27 Years Ago Today...December 16th

It was twenty-seven years ago today that I saw Metallica with opening band Metal Church play the Convention Centre here in Edmonton.

It was twenty-four years ago today that I saw Metal Church play The Metro here in Edmonton with opening band Joker.

Today's t-shirts is from the first time I saw Metallica in concert. This show was in 1986 at the Convention Centre in Edmonton with Metal Church opening, a great double bill of metal for the time. This was just months after Cliff Burton died after a bus accident in Sweden. Metallica were touring for their album Master Of Puppets, this show was fucking amazing, with only about 700 people in attendance. I went to this show with Eor, Monica and Nerraw.

Today's t-shirt is from the second time I saw Metal Church in concert. This show was at The Metro a bar that used to be by Capilano Mall in Edmonton. This was a great place to see this band at the time, as they were an up and coming thrash metal band that really didn't get the respect I thought they deserved. Metal Church were touring for their second album "Blessing In Disguise" which is actually quite good back in 1989. The opening band for this show was excellent as well. They were a band from Balzac,Alberta called "Joker", they fuckin' rocked, especially the tunes "Balzac Boogie" and "I Don't Dance". I believe I went to this show with Nerraw,Eor and maybe A-Bomb, it's a while ago now, things are kind of fuzzy from them days. Although, I do recall this being a great double bill.
