Motorhead Whiskey

Because I have nothing else to write about at the moment, I thought I would post this.

I bought this over a year ago and never wrote about it. I'm talking about Motorhead Ace of Spades Signature Series Straight Bourbon Whiskey distilled by Proof Artisan Distillers out of Fargo, North Dakota.

Holy shit, this whiskey hits hard and if you drink more then a few shots straight up it will kick your ass. And in the name of Lemmy Kilmister, yes you drink it straight up. Good stuff, but drink in moderation because you will wake up with a hangover. You've been warned! RIP Lemmy!

Bob Dylan Whiskey

While doing some Xmas shopping at a liquor store here in Edmonton I finally found the Heaven's Door Whiskey which is an American Tennessee whiskey co-created by Bob Dylan. I had been keeping my eyes open for this whiskey for a few years now. I was excited about finally finding it, but then I looked at the price of it. The liquor store I was at had two of the three different kinds in the series. They had the Double Barrel Whiskey and the Tennessee Bourbon. I hemmed and hawwed for about ten minutes while shopping in the store whether I should by a bottle or not. Being such a huge Dylan fan and because I have always wanted to try this, I thought fuck it, a guy needs to treat himself to a bottle once in a while. So I took the hit and bought myself a bottle of the Double Barrel Whiskey, an Xmas present to myself. So on Christmas Eve I poured myself a drink and put o the Dylan Christmas album and enjoyed a drink. It's damn good!!! To read more about this click this link here Heaven's Door.

The Pogues Whiskey

I came across this Pogues Whiskey awhile ago and had to have it. Being a fan of a nice sipping whiskey and also a fan of the legendary Irish celtic punk band The Pogues I had to grab me a bottle. This is a great tasting whiskey with a creamy toffee vanilla after taste. I found this at a local liquor store in Edmonton called Sherbrooke Liquor. So I did what came naturally and put on some Pogues music and had myself a few drinks. This is a whiskey well worth trying to find. Good times!!!

Enter Night Metallica Beer

I found the Metallica a beer a while ago now, but damn I was on the lookout for it for quite sometime. Managed to pick some up at Wine and Beyond at Southgate Mall here in Edmonton.

This is a Pilsner beer brewed and canned by Arrogant Consortia out of Richmond, Virginia and Escondido, California brewed in collaboration with Metallica. In all honesty I didn't really care for it. Still cool to have in my collection of alcohol music related items.

Pearl Jam Beer

Earlier this summer my brother Citrus was in Washington on holidays seeing a couple of concerts. While he was there he picked up a six pack of Pearl Jam beer. While he didn't attend either of the two hometown Pearl Jam concerts in Seattle he still managed to find this beet at a local store. Lucky for me he brought me a can of the beer when he came to visit a month ago.

The beer is a Seattle Pale Ale brewed by the Georgetown Brewing Company. I enjoyed the beer very much, and especially liked the can. The beer my Brother picked up from an Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, it had an Even Flow and Release and went Down very nice, it made me Breathe and made me feel like a Better Man. Thanks Citrus, you were the Man Of The Hour. It was a nice Parting Ways gift. It was a beer I won't Soon Forget.

Megadeth Beer

I finally found myself a bottle of the Megadeth beer yesterday at the local liquor store. I have been looking for this for quite sometime now. It's a Belgian style session ale that is brewed in Chambly, Quebec by Unibroue with an amazing label featuring the Megadeth mascot Vic Rattlehead. A tasty treat that I drank while out on a long hike. A beer well worth looking for.

Iron Maiden Beer

A week ago while at the beer store I came across this Iron Maiden beer brewed by Robinson's Brewery in Stockport, England. This is the second edition of beer to sport the Iron Maiden name on it. This edition of the Trooper beer is a stronger beer with a 6.6% alcohol content. I myself wasn't all that impressed with the taste of the beer, but had to at least try it. I'm just not the biggest fan of the English ale, I always find it has a dusty taste to it. It sure does have a damn cool label though, and the best bottle cap ever.

Metallica Beer

So a few weeks ago on the internet I saw an article about Budweiser (my favorite beer and one of my favorite bands) were releasing a limited edition Metallica can to commemorate the two shows Metallica were playing in Quebec city. Metallica were playing the very last show in the old Colisee Pepsi coliseum and then two days later playing the very first show in the new Centre Videotron coliseum. This limited edition Budweiser was only available in the province Quebec and only 91,000 available. I had to have me a few of these, so that got me thinking how the hell am I going to get some of these. Well, a good buddy of mine that I used to work with moved back to Quebec a few years ago. So I got in touch with him and asked if he could help me out. Well, lo and behold he came through for me, sending me a dozen of them. A big big thank you to my buddy Simon!!!

AC/DC Beer

While at a liquor store yesterday I found this German beer on the shelf. The AC/DC Rock Or Bust beer named after there latest album title.. This is the second style of AC/DC beer I have seen now. A few years ago there was the Black Ice beer.

I have to say I didn't mind this blonde coloured beer at all. It's a nice tasting beer that comes in a tall can containing 568ml of yumminess!!!

The Black Ice edition of AC/DC beer.

Looks like there is also a AC/DC energy drink available. To read more about these products checkout the website here.

Beer

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a beer that interested me as it seemed to have a music theme to it. That, and I love beer, so ya I had to try it. It's a India Pale Ale brewed by Better Bitter Brewing Company out of Burlington, Ontario. The beer is called Headstock by Nickel Brook. The beer is a strong beer which really isn't my thing, but hell ya I drank it. What really caught my eye on this beer can is the picture of the man with the guitar on it. Anyone that knows rock n' roll can tell there is no doubt this picture on the can is Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Tragically Hip Wine

I finally received my two bottles of Tragically Hip wine that I ordered a while ago. I'm not a wine drinker, but had to have me a bottle of this red wine that was c-created by the members of The Hip. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which means nothing to me, lol. But from what I am reading, it should be a nice drink. The label is an exact replication of the original artwork that first appeared on the Fully Completely album cover from 1992. The wine was produced and distributed by Stoney Ridge Estate Winery out of Vineland, Ontario.

Iron Maiden Beer

So last weekend while visiting a local liquor store (Liquor Depot) I came across this beer.

The beer I am talking about is an Iron Maiden themed beer called Trooper which of course is a title of an Iron Maiden song. This beer is a premium British beer handcrafted by Robinsons Brewery. It was supposedly developed by lead singer Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden whom is a beer enthusiast. The beer is actually quite tasty and much better then the AC/DC beer I had found a few months ago. I would recommend this beer.

The bottle I picked up is a 500 ml and 4.7% alcohol content at the price of six dollars a bottle. It's got an awesome label and a little bit of history on the back of the bottle. This is a beer well worth looking into.

Pink Floyd Bottle of Wine

While on vacation recently in Parksville, British Columbia I went to a liquor store that was attached to our hotel I came across this bottle of wine that I had seen advertised in Rolling Stone magazine. The bottle I picked up was the Pink Floyd bottle of wine, which is a red wine (cabernet sauvignon 2010) produced by Mendocino Wine Company out of California. I know fuck all about wine, but was told that it is actually a really good wine. Made no difference to me as I just thought it was one cool looking label. Being a big Pink Floyd fan, I had to get me one of these. There is a series of bottles that are available under the label "Wines That Rock", the only other bottle I saw at this liquor store was the Rolling Stones one, which also looked very cool. But having to pack this Pink Floyd bottle in my suit case for the flight home, I only took the chance on one bottle. And as you can see from the pictures, it made it home in one piece, yay!!! Other bottles available are as mentioned Rolling Stones, Woodstock, The Police and The Grateful Dead. All the labels on these bottles are very sharp looking, I am hoping I can find the Dead, Stones and Woodstock ones. I have yet to try the wine, but I wouldn't know a good wine from a bad one.
