May 8th, 2006 I saw The Black Crowes with opening act Matt Mays and The El Torpedo play the jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton. This wasn't one of The Crowes better shows that I have seen. But Matt Mays on the other hand was great!

It was on this day September 24th, 1990 that I saw Robert Plant on his Manic Nirvana Tour play Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton. Opening the show was The Black Crowes, which made this an incredible double bill.

August 10th
On August 10th, 1990 I saw the Black Crowes open for Heart at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton. I had absolutely no interest in seeing Heart perform, I was there for the Black Crowes. I thought their set was awesome even though they pretty much got booed off the stage. I left the venue right after the Crowes and got to meet the guys otside.

April 24th
On April 24th, 1993 I saw The Black Crowes in concert for the third time. Though this was my first time seeing them headline. The Black Crowes were on tour for their album The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion. This show was at the Agricom in Edmonton and holy shit this was a loud show. Opening the concert was the Nose Goblins which was Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds minus Izzy Stradlin.

Seven Inch Saturday (Chris Robinson Brotherhood)
Today's seven inch single is from the Chris Robinson Brotherhood. Chris Robinson is or was the lead singer of the now broken up band The Black Crowes. This seven inch came with the full length 2014 release Phosphorescent Harvest album.
The two songs on this single are Humboldt Windchimes and Star Crossed Lonely Sailor. The first song Humboldt Windchimes is an instrumental and is on the boring side. The second song Star Crossed Lonely Sailor reminds me a bit of the Grateful Dead. If you are a fan of the Dead and like blues hippy psychedelic rock this is for you.
The cover of this single is a take off of the packaging you would get if you are buying marijuana seeds from a seed dispenser. You could say Chris Robinson Brotherhood is heavily influenced by the ganja!

Seven Inch Sunday (Black Crowes)
Today's seven inch is the Black Crowes 1996 album Three Snakes And One Charm album that was released as a 7" vinyl edition box set containing seven singles a poster and a seven inch single adapter that looks like the album cover. One of the singles contains two songs that were not available on the album. The two songs are "Just Say You're Sorry" and the Bob Marley song "Pimper's Paradise".
This album was never released on 12" vinyl, this was the only vinyl release of Three Snakes And One Charm. I just recently read that the Black Crowes first four albums will be re-issued this December.
Full album.
Pimper's Paradise.
