Song Of The Day Feb.4th (Faith No More)

'Epic' by Faith No More from the album The Real Thing released in 1989.

Can you feel it ,see it, hear it today?
If you can't, then it doesn't matter anyway
You will never understand it 'cause it happens too fast
And it feels so good, it's like walking on glass
It's so cool, it's so hip, it's alright
It's so groovy, it's outta sight
You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet
But it makes no difference 'cause it knocks you off your feet
You want it all but you can't have it
It's cryin', bleedin', lying on the floor
So you lay down on it and you do it some more
You've got to share it, so you dare it
Then you bare it and you tear it
You want it all but you can't have it
It's in your face but you can't grab it
It's alive, afraid, a lie, a sin
It's magit, it's tragic, it's a loss, it's a win
It's dark, it's moist, it's a bitter pain
It's sad it happened and it's a shame
You want it all but you can't have it
It's in your face but you can't grab it
What is it?
It's it
What is it?...

Concert Shirt Of The Day Feb.4th (White Stripes)

Today's t-shirt is from the White Stripes concert A-Bomb, Cuz and I went to in 2007 at The Shaw Conference Centre here in Edmonton. I don't recall who opened for the White Stripes not that we saw them anyways. The line up to get into the venue was ridiculous, so Cuz and I went to the bar for an hour and came back when there was no line up. By then we were able to just walk right in, no line ups no hassle. We got in just as the White Stripes hit the stage. This was an awesome concert that rocked the whole way through, we lost each other during the show, but all agreed it was one hell of a concert.

I sure am glad I had the opportunity to see the White Stripes when I did, as they announced this week that they have disbanded the band, too bad cause I thought they were a great rock n' roll band.

Concert Ad Of The Day Feb.3rd (Matt Minglewood)

There were no tickets for this show, just a cover charge at the door. This was for the Matt Minglewood show I saw at Peoples Pub in 1992. I went to this show with my buddy Buzzard who introduced me to the music of Matt Minglewood. Buzzard being from Nova Scotia as Matt is too, has followed Matt's career from the beginning, therefore talking me in to checking out the show. I thought the show was pretty good, but Buzzard wasn't all that impressed, saying he missed the harp played that usually played with Matt. All and all though we still had a good night of drinks and music.

In concert news... Matt Minglewood will be playing at Century Casino in Edmonton on Friday March 4th.

KISS Collectible Of The Day Feb.2nd

Today's KISS Collectible is a 24"X36" poster that came out in 1975, distributed by Boutwell Enterprises. This is the oldest of all the KISS posters that I have.

Concert Shirt/Poster Of The Day Feb.2nd (Robert Plant)

Today's t-shirt is from the fourth time I saw Robert Plant solo in concert. I went to this show with my sweetie Janis in 2005 at Rexall Place in Edmonton. Opening the show was Canadian band The Trews, we missed most of their set as I am not really a fan of them. Janis has always been a huge fan of Robert Plant, so I wanted to get good seats for this concert, well I got lucky and managed to score front row centre seats for the show. Robert put on a great show and sounded excellent. What surprised me about this concert was how small the audience was, just over 5,000 people, that's a shame for a rock legend. Might explain why he has no Edmonton date for his newest tour for his new album 'Band Of Joy'.

Concert Poster Of The Day Feb.1st (Corb Lund)

Today's poster is from the seventh time I saw Corb Lund in concert. This show was in 2006 at The Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton with opening act Elliott Brood. This was Corb's biggest Edmonton show to date, a few years later he played the coliseum. It as weird to see Corb play the Jubilee as all the other times I saw him play were in bars, so to see wanna be cowboys and kids at the show, kind of took away from the show for me. Nonetheless he did put on a great show. I was supposed to go to this show with my buddy Geddy, it being his birthday, I said I would take him tot he show, only to be stood up as he was drunk and never did show, bastard!!! I waited for him, therefore missed Elliott Brood which was a drag.
