Takin' It To The Streets Fest July 7th 2013

Last Sunday Blues On Whyte put on the second edition of the "Takin' It To The Streets Festival" which is a block party celebrating the Old Strathcona neighbourhood. They shut down Whyte Avenue between 103st. and 104st. from 10am to 10pm and start the day with a pancake breakfast and then had ten bands performing during the course of the day between the two stages. One stage on the main street and the other in the beer garden, a great day of blues music. I wish the city of Edmonton would do more things like this during the summer months. Kudos to Blues On Whyte for putting this festival on, as it had a great turn out and looked to me like everyone there was having a good time. Good times!!!

Here are a few pictures of the bands I saw.

From Texas Andrew Jr. Boy Jones.

Tim Vaughn from Saskatoon.

Big Hank and a Fist Full Of Blues from Edmonton.

From Chicago George Taylor.

A great day of way too many beers for a Sunday.

T-shirt front.

Back.
