KISS Collectible Of The Day (Book Review)

Today's KISS Collectible is a book that I got for Xmas of 2009 that I finally got around to reading. The book is called "The Ultimate KISS Fanzine Phenomenon". The book came out in 2009 on Phoenix Books. The book as the title suggests is all about KISS Fanzines that fans have put out between 1976 and 2009. It's an interesting read if you are a KISS fan. All the dedication that fans have put into these magazines all self published and put together, and this is in the days before the internet, so there was a lot of research and cutting and pasting and typing. The book has articles from fans that did these mags , where they talk about how they got into the band and why they did these mags.

The band themselves took a lot of interest in these publications and actually set up interviews and backstage passes for these fans. I found it interesting how much Eric Carr the drummer that took over after Peter Criss left the band, and now deceased, took an interest and went out of his way to help out the fans with their publications.

A good book with lots of pictures, glossy pages and some great articles. if your a KISS fan, this is a book worth checking out. It's not really a book where you sit down and read from start to finish, more like a coffee table book that you pick up and read for a bit at a time.
