Mickey Hart Band Live in Sherwood Park Feb.23rd 2013
On Saturday night my buddies Hurl,Buzzard and I went to the Mickey Hart Band concert in Sherwood Park at Festival Place (a great venue by the way), this was the second of a two night stand for the band here. This was my first time seeing a show at this venue and first time ever seeing a member of the Grateful Dead perform in concert. For those that don't know Mickey Hart was the drummer in the Grateful Dead.
The night started with opening band the African Showboyz, whom were four members that all played drums and shakers of one sort or another. In all honesty, I didn't much care for them.
After them it was time for the Mickey Hart Band who had a nine piece band playing with him. This show was a drum extravaganza if there ever was one. Mickey of course on drums as well as two other drummers Sikiru Adepoju and Greg Schutte. And when they were all going, holy fuck did this show ever get hypnotizing at times, I felt like I was in a trance a few times especially during the first set. But then, that could of been because of being under the influence. The show opened with the Jefferson Airplane song "White Rabbit", opening with that gives you an indication of what kind of night we were in for. The lady singing for the Mickey Hart Band Crystal Monee Hall had an amazing voice, that could be raw and bluesy but also angelic to the pint you could lose yourself in her singing, very cool. Also in the band was bass player Dave Schools who also plays in the band Widespread Panic, another jam band. He had the funky bass shit going on all night.
The show consisted of two sets which was nice, cause like I say, was losing it at times during the first set. Some fresh air and a break from the hypnotic music did me a lot of good. That, and I was starting to sober up, which helped too. I enjoyed the second set more. All and all the show was about two and a half hours long with lots of hippies in their tie-dyed t-shirts dancing the night away. Good times!!!

KISS Collectible Of The Day Feb.22nd
Today's KISS Collectible is something my Brother picked up for me a few years ago in the States and gave them to me as an Xmas present. They are the KISS M&M's, sadly he was only able to get 3 of the four individual members, I am missing the Gene Simmons pack of M&M's. Can anyone help me out? A very cool gift to get, as I didn't even know they existed at the time. Thanks Citrus :)

KISS Collectible For Feb.20th
Today's KISS Collectible is a t-shirt I just bought and received in the mail the other day. The t-shirt is from the Bad Boys Of KISS Tour in 1995. It was Ace Frehley and Peter Criss touring together, each doing their own set then playing together for a few songs. I remember being so stoked about this show when it came through Edmonton in the summer of 1995, the show was at the Thunderdome here, they also did a second night at a bar on the west end of the city, don't recall what the bar was called anymore. But myself and my Brother and others went to the Thunderdome show. This was my first time seeing Peter Criss and Ace Frehley perform live, and what a wicked time we had. By the time this show came through town they were sold out of t-shirts, so I was pretty happy to finally find one of these t-shirts online and get one.
If you are a fan of KISS and are looking for almost any kind of KISS Collectible, I highly reccommend checking out this site KISSmuseum.com.
