November 24th

The gig poster from the November 24th, 2010 guitar clinic I saw Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar and Grady fame do in Edmonton. This clinic was originally supposed to be at Avenue Guitars but was moved to a conference room at the Varscona Hotel just a few doors down. This was super cool to see Gordie Johnson in such an intimate setting as a small ballroom with maybe a dozen people in attendance. Was neat see him play sitting on a chair within a few feet and getting to ask him questions and get his autograph. Good times!!!

December 14th

On December 14th, 2000 I saw Gordie Johnson and Kelly Hoppe of Big Sugar play an acoustic show at the Myer Horowitz Theatre in Edmonton. Really cool to see these guys play an all acoustic show.

11 Years Ago Today...November 24th

It was eleven years ago today that I saw John Prine play the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton.

And it was three years ago today that I saw Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar and Grady fame do a guitar clinic at the Varscona Hotel here in Edmonton. This show was advertised to be at Avenue Guitars, but when I went to the store there was a note saying it had been moved tot he hotel. The show was done in a small conference room with maybe 20 people there. A very cool intimate show to see.

Concert Poster Of The Day Aug. 25th (Big Sugar)

Today's poster is from the time A-Bomb and I saw Gordie Johnson and Kelly Hoppe of Big Sugar do an acoustic show at the Myer Horowitz Theatre in 2000 on the University Of Alberta campus here in Edmonton. This was am amazing show to see, as I had never seen Gordie play acoustic guitar, he also pulled out the banjo for some songs as well with Kelly playing the harmonica on most of the tunes too. A small intimate show and really good time.

In concert news... Gordie Johnson and Kelly Hoppe again will be playing an all acoustic show billed as "Two Fools On Stools" at the Beaumont Blues Festival on Saturday September 4th in Beaumont,Alberta just outside of Edmonton.
