August 20th

Back on August 20th, 1989 I went to the Sunset Of Summer Music festival at Hawrelak Park in Edmonton. This one off festival was a smattering of local bands such as Idyl Tea, Rusty Reed and The Southside Shuffle, Killing Time and Jr. Gone Wild among others.

February 24th

This show on February 24th, 1990 is still one of the top ten shows  have ever been to. L.A. Guns with local bands Killing Time and Mary Prankster at The Metro in Edmonton. Holy shit between the booze, weed, hash, mushrooms, acid and blow going around at this show it's a wonder any of us remember it. L.A. Guns were touring for their sophomore album Locked & Loaded which was a great follow up to their debut album. The afternoon of this show the band L.A. Guns did an autograph session at HMV in West Edmonton Mall in which myself a few buddies attended. Got my album autographed and met the guys. This was one hell of a day and night. Good times!!!

24 Years Ago Today...August 20th

It was twenty-four years ago today that I went to the Sunset Of Summer Festival at Hawrelak Park here in Edmonton. Some of the bands on the bill, all local bands were Jr. Gone Wild, Rusty Reed and the Southside Shuffle, Idyl Tea and Killing Time.

Also on this day nine years ago, I saw the band Maximum RnR play a bar called Stars in Edmonton.

And it was three years ago today that I went to the Edmonton Blues Festival at Hawrelak Park to see Jimmie Vaughan perform.
