Motorhead Whiskey

Because I have nothing else to write about at the moment, I thought I would post this.

I bought this over a year ago and never wrote about it. I'm talking about Motorhead Ace of Spades Signature Series Straight Bourbon Whiskey distilled by Proof Artisan Distillers out of Fargo, North Dakota.

Holy shit, this whiskey hits hard and if you drink more then a few shots straight up it will kick your ass. And in the name of Lemmy Kilmister, yes you drink it straight up. Good stuff, but drink in moderation because you will wake up with a hangover. You've been warned! RIP Lemmy!

April 18th

This was an awesome show to see. It was on April 18th, 2005 that I saw Motorhead headline this show at Red's in West Edmonton Mall. Opening bands were Corrosion Of Conformity and 3 Inches Of Blood. Not sure of Damn 13 played or not, if they did, I missed them. This show was incredibly loud as you would expect at a Motorhead concert.

February 20th

It was February 20th, 1988 that I had front row seats for the double bill of Alice Cooper headlining with Motorhead opening at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton.

Alice was touring for his Raise Your Fist And Yell album and Motorhead would have been on the road promoting their album Rock N' Roll album.

Motörhead Monday

Going back to the 1987 Motörhead album Rock N' Roll with the song "Eat The Rich". I remember when I very first heard this song back in 87' and laughed my ass off at how funny the lyrics were, and still do.
The lyrics I am going with today is the second verse.

"Sittin' here in a restaurant,
Tell the waiter just what you want
Is that the meat, you wanted to eat,
How would you ever know?
Hash browns an' bacon strips,
I love the way that you lick your lips,
No fooling, I can see you drooling,
Feel the hunger grow
"

Motörhead Monday

Today's track is the title track from 1983 Motörhead album Another Perfect Day. I had to pull this album out on cassette as it is the only format in which I own this on. Been a while since I have listened to a cassette. This is an album well worth checking out again.

"Out to lunch, speak your piece
Good and drunk, back on the street
What you see is what you get
No matter what you say
"

Motörhead Monday

Haven't listened to this album in ages, it's fucking awesome, a very underrated album. I'm talking about the Motörhead album 1916 that was released in 1991. Pretty sure I'll be picking a few lines out of this album. Today I picked the song "Shut You Down", a full on rocker this is.

Listen up 'cause I'm telling you
The magic moments were way too few
I'd like to stay but you get too weird
You don't look right since you grew that beard

Motörhead Monday

Today's Motörhead lyrics come from the song "Cradle To The Grave", another great song that was originally released as a B side to the Eat The Rich single in 1987.

Ain't so bad, ain't so bad, could've been a loser
Ain't so bad, ain't so bad, rather be a boozer
Standing at the crossroads, see where the wind blows
Following the white line, following my nose

Motorhead Setlist from 1988

Something I stumbled upon on the weekend after I found my Alice Cooper tour program. I found this setlist from Motorhead whom opened for Alice Cooper.

I recall being at the show, first row, my Bro and I. After Motorhead was done there set the roadies were doing the tear down when one of them took the setlist taped to the stage and threw it on the floor. I saw it happen, so I took my Bro's t-shirt he had just bought and threw it right by the setlist. I then kindly asked him to pick up the setlist for me while he was picking up his t-shirt. I know, I'm an asshole, lol. Then to boot, my Bro was kind enough to give me the setlist. Finding this setlist after so many years brought back some memories. Thanks Citrus!!!!

Setlist for Motorhead in Edmonton February 20th 1988. Motorhead were touring for their album Rock N' Roll.

Ticket Stub Of The Day May 5th (Motorhead)

Today's ticket stub is from the second time I saw Motorhead in concert. This show was in 1999 at a bar called Cowboy's in Edmonton, ya a cowboy bar if you can believe it. The opening act was Hatebreed, but if I remember correctly they cancelled. I went to this show with my buddy Psycho. This show was extremely loud as all Motorhead shows are, and what an awesome show and time we had at this one. Lots and lots of beers, messed up. I love the name of this tour "No Sleep Til' Detox". Good times!!!

Concert Shirt Of The Day Jan.29th (Motorhead)

Today's t-shirt is from the fourth time I saw Motorhead in concert. I went to this show with Cuz in 2005 at Red's in Edmonton. And again it was another great show by the mighty Motorhead, very loud and very good, what was interesting about this show was Lemmy coming out for the encore and playing the song 'Whorehouse Blues' on acoustic guitar. We missed the first two bands Damn 13 and 3 Inches Of Blood but did catch Corrosion Of Conformity who I thought were very good as well. A fun night of old school metal celebrating their 30th anniversary.

In concert news... Motorhead will be playing in Edmonton on Wednesday February 9th touring for their new album 'The World Is Yours' at the Edmonton Events Centre with opening bands Clutch and Valiant Thorr.

I thought I would include this concert shirt in this post. I wasn't at this show in 1982, but my buddy Geddy was and gave me this shirt years ago.

Concert Shirt Of The Day Oct.19th (Alice Cooper)

Today's t-shirt is from the Alice Cooper and Motorhead double bill my brother,Eor and I went to in Edmonton at Northlands Coliseum in 1988. This was my third time seeing Alice in concert and second time in a row having front row seats. The main reason I wanted to check this show out was the chance to see Motorhead for the first time, they were touring for their album Rock N' Roll. Motorhead didn't disappoint either, very loud and everything I expected, good stuff.
