19 Years Ago Today...Mar.10th

It was nineteen years ago today that I saw Canadian metal band Varga play at Peoples Pub here in Edmonton.

As well it was ten years ago today That I saw Henry Rollins do his spoken word performance at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton.

Also two years ago today that I saw Steel Panther play at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.

Looks like March 10th has been a good day for concerts for me, as it was just last year on this day that I saw Puscifer in concert at the Jubilee Auditorium here in Edmonton.

Concert Poster Of The Day Dec.24th (Henry Rollins)

Today's poster is from the second time I saw Henry Rollins do his spoken word performance. This show was at The Winspear Centre in Edmonton in 2004. I went to this show with my friend A-Bomb. Again he did a 3 hour show, you would never know you were sitting for 3 hours listening to a guy talk, a great show and very entertaining. Highly recommended.

Concert Poster Of The Day Sept. 3rd (Henry Rollins)

Today's poster is from the Henry Rollins spoken word performance my friend A-Bomb and I went to at the Winspear Centre in 2003. This was my first time seeing him perform in any shape or form. As he also sings in his band The Rollins Band and used to sing in Black Flag. This spoken word performance was excellent with him talking for 3 hours with no breaks and not a sip of water or anything. He is an incredible storyteller and has a lot of stories to tell, having been in bands since he was a teen. Henry comes across as a very intense man, with stories ranging from touring, traveling, politics and his opinions all with a sense of humour too though. A great show and well worth checking out if you ever get the chance. He does come through Edmonton on a regular basis.
