I have been asked many times over the years of what my favorite concerts I have ever seen. I have tried to make a best of list, but have found it way too hard to come up with a top ten list. So I figure I will just go by years.
The very first concert I ever attended was Helix with Kick Axe Oct.31st 1984 at The Golden Garter. I still hold this show up there as one of my faves, just cause it was my first and hell it was a damn good double bill for a metal head back in 84. Being Halloween night, there were all kinds of people dressed up, saw for the first time people selling drugs at the show. I saw an Alien selling to Fred Flintstone. That was a neat experience.
And after seeing my first show I was hooked on live music.

I only went to 2 shows in 84, and again this one has stuck with me. It was another great double bill for a metal head.
Twisted Sister opening for Iron Maiden at Northlands Coliseum Dec. 6th 1984. Twisted Sister had just released Stay Hungry and Maiden had released Powerslave, both great albums for the time. I had never heard so much cursing in my life then when Twisted Sister performed. I was shocked, I didn't realize they could get away with swearing on stage, being only the 2nd show I had ever been too. And being only 14 years old, I thought they were the coolest mother fuckers around. The guys sitting next to me must have smoked 20 joints during the show, I believe this was my first contact high from pot. Sure made for a fun show.
