Today's Tour Program is from the first time I saw Motley Crue in concert. This program is from the Theatre Of Pain Tour I saw in Edmonton in 1985 with Autograph opening. I was really looking forward to this show but have to say it was horrible, both bands sucked. This was the Crue at there glammiest, as you can see from the pictures in the program.
The program is 25 pages in length with each member of the band doing a questionnaire, with questions like "favorite Crue song", "favorite movie and TV show", "All time favorite album", "favorite drink" and so on. Some of the answers are interesting. Also in the program is Motley Crue trivia and of course all kinds of pictures. Actually it is a pretty cool program to look back on.

Dude, i thought this show was great! Autograph weren't that good, and granted this wasn't the best era for the Crue, but still they were pretty good. Or maybe i was just young enough and a huge fan that i was just stoked to be seeing them finally.
ReplyDeletei got hooked with shout at the devil album then went back and got too fast for love and really liked the original picture inside the cassette cover since it was similar to the shout era look,of course the album rocked as well.
ReplyDeletethen theater of pain came out and i was like WTF just happened to my favorite band?
if you look back at pictures of motley when they were still playing the starwood, wiskey, perkins palace in the beginning ,youll see that they were pretty glammed out before they were even signed to a major label.
also a lot of the songs on T.O.P. were actually reworked into new songs from songs that nikki wrote before and during too fast for love era.i think there were only 2 or 3 songs written that were completely new material.
i love 1981-1984 motley.
