Today's pick is an album that took a few spins before I started to enjoy it. I am talking about the collaboration of Gord Downie of the
Tragically Hip backed by
The Sadies. I guess this album has been in the making since 2006 when the two bands played a benefit show together and decided to make an album. Being a big fan of both the Hip and The Sadies, I was really looking forward to this release. The album is called
Gord Downie, The Sadies, And The Conquering Sun.
This album has got a country roots twang to go with a punk rock feeling on a few songs. It's all over the place, yet good, but again, may take a few listens to enjoy it.
In concert news... The
Tragically Hip will be playing in Edmonton at Rexall Place on Thursday February 12th.
